Women's soccer makes history
For the first time in its history, the Holyoke Community College Women’s Soccer team advanced to the NJCAA Division III Final Four National Soccer Tournament.
A hard fought 4-3 victory over Jefferson Community College (NY) clinched the District A Tournament, and punched the team ticket to the Final Four Tournament, held November 8-9, 2008, at Richland College/Dallas County Community College District in Dallas, TX.
Although they failed to win the Championship, the Cougars (14-9) finish a strong season as the first HCC Women's Soccer team to advance to the National Final Four. Out of nearly 100 NJCAA Division III schools, HCC's #4 ranking is very impressive. Sarah Jaskula (Bondsville, MA) and Jenee King (Holyoke, MA) were both named to the NJCAA Division III Final Four All-Tournament Team.
