HCC offers free college preparation course for adults
Want to earn a college degree but need help getting ready?
Holyoke Community College and the Community Education Project will offer a free, 14-week course to help adult learners prepare for college. The course runs February 2 – May 8, 2009, and consists of 12+ class hours a week, meeting M, W, F at HCC at 9:15 a.m., plus extensive mentor/tutor hours outside of class.
Students will receive instruction in reading, writing, math, basic science, and computers that will help them succeed in college-level courses. The class will be taught in English in a Latino-friendly environment. Bilingual counseling will be available.
This course is for anyone over 18 who has earned a GED OR graduated from high school five or more years ago. Graduates of the program interested in continuing their education will receive help with the college financial aid and admissions process.
