Can a tree make you happy?
Each year, HCC joins Western Massachusetts Eldercare, the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and Homework House to make the holiday season a little more joyful for those in need.
As part of the Giving Tree campaign, trees in the lobbies of Frost, the Library, and the Kittredge Center have been decorated with tags indicating the gift that would be most appreciated by clients of the above agencies.
Peruse the tags and you'll find the wishes of the six-year old whose family is hanging on by a thread, or the 90 year-old woman who spends her days alone in her apartment. Their requests aren't extravagant: a toy, a sweater, a gift certificate to Big Y.
Ready for the happy part? Visit a tree, select a tag, purchase and wrap the gift, and return both gift and tag to the President's Office by Monday, December 7. (Don't forget that tag: it's how they make sure your gift goes to the right person!)
Happiness guaranteed, or your money back.
