Free adult college preparation

ABE Transition to College and Careers

Now enrolling Fall 2009

Want to earn a college degree but need help getting ready? Register today!

Holyoke Community College and the Community Education Project will offer a free, college prep course this fall. Classes will meet at HCC Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., from September 14 – December 18.

Students will receive instruction in English reading and writing, math and algebra, and computer and study skills, and support for a basic online science component. We work with students to identify career paths that pay fair wages.

Counseling is available in English or Spanish.

The course provides a supportive learning environment, access to HCC resources, and assistance with financial aid and admissions applications.

Based on a skills evaluation, students may also be eligible for an additional free summer program beginning June 22.

Who is eligible?

  • Applicants must be 18 or older.
  • Applicants must have graduated from high school five or more years ago, OR
  • Earned a GED (doesn't matter whether you earned it last week or 20 years ago)
