“Lunch and Learn”
Workforce Development Workshops Now Available
Organizations in the Pioneer Valley seeking job skills training for employees can take advantage of the new “Lunch and Learn” workshops offered by the Kittredge Center for Business & Workforce Development at Holyoke Community College. Part of a new Recession Buster Initiative, the short, 45 minute workshops are led by the Center’s seminar and workshop trainers, and held during lunchtime at the work site.
Workshop topics, which include Performance Improvement, Sales and Marketing, Management and Supervisory Skills Building, Leadership, and Customer Service, address issues faced by today’s companies as they strive to compete in the local and global economies during a tough economy. According to Keith M. Hensley, HCC dean of workforce development, “Employee reductions and employee multi-tasking have caused these issues to surface as those that most affect the workforce. Topics are appropriate for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the manufacturing and service sectors. These new workshops give companies the opportunity to experience HCC’s workforce development training through interactive, engaging workshops facilitated by trainers with local, state, and national reputations.”
The workshops, available during April and May on a first-come, first-served basis, are limited to one per company to allow all interested organizations to participate. To register or for more information, call Keith M. Hensley at the Kittredge Center at (413) 552-2506 or email khensley@hcc.edu.
