HCC Students on Virtual Ecology Expedition

While professor Gary Beluzo conducts onsite field research on California ecosystems the week of April 17-26, his students and a number of HCC faculty are participating through a Virtual Ecology Expedition.
Beluzo established an online multimedia library to provide access to extensive data, including slideshows, images, and video clips, as well as nightly journal entries posted as he travels from Muir Woods to Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, the Santa Cruz mountains and coastal region, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Los Angeles basin.
Live chat and bulletin boards give students the opportunity to post comments and questions as they learn about the ecology of the bioregions, examine the impact of human activity on the natural environment, and consider the relationship between society and the environment.
