Favorite thing about teaching:
Wonderful students, wonderful colleagues, and a chance to start over again every semester, trying to get it right.

Memorable moment at HCC:
Mostly classroom moments, like the day a young male student left class brandishing a copy of Albert Camus' The Plague, saying, "Everyone should read this book."

Teaching philosophy:
Show more than tell: model what it means to be an active learner, an analytical thinker, a compassionate person.
