Radostina Koleva Professor Radostina Koleva, M.S., CompTIA Security+

Degree and from where it was received:

M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland

M.S. in Physics, Northeastern University

Diploma in Physics, Sofia University

Courses you teach: I teach courses in the Information Security and Assurance and Microcomputer User Support options. I particularly enjoy teaching courses in Information Security which is my main interest and area of expertise

Accomplishments:  Co-chaired a conference on Information and Assurance (www.hcc.edu/pvisac) in which many of my students were involved.  Together with my students produced an Information Security Newsletter

Favorite thing about teaching: I love interacting with my students and I am thrilled when I see them thinking independently.  I am very excited when they start asking difficult questions, make connections and come up with creative and unexpected solutions.

Memorable moment at HCC: Commencement at HCC is a wonderful moment - I am always happy to witness the success of all our students.

Teaching philosophy: In the fast changing world of technology everyone needs to become a life-long learner and explorer.  And there is so much fun to be had along the way!
