      Apply for admission

      Complete an online application.

      Apply for financial aid

      Nearly half of all HCC students receive financial aid from federal, state, and private sources. Start by creating a user name and password at here. Once you've done that, go to to submit your application. HCC's federal school code is 002170.

      Take the college placement test

      Massachusetts requires all students to complete a math and language assessment before taking classes at any state school (unless you qualify for an exemption). The assessment is free and computerized, and there's no such thing as failing (it just helps us put you in the right classes). Find test preparation and exemption information here.

      Meet with an academic advisor

      Our experienced advisors will help you interpret your assessment results, pick the right classes, and understand program requirements. Have a question about your education? Your advisor is the person to ask. Stop by the Advising Center in Frost 273 or call 413.552.2722 for an appointment.

      Register for classes

      During your advising session, your advisor will register you for your first semester of classes. If you need to change your course schedule, email or stop by the Advising Center. Once you have successfully completed 12 credits and have an earned G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, you will register for courses via Online Services at

      Pay Tuition and Fees

      You can pay your tuition and fees online at MyHCC, by mail, or in person at the Bursar’s Office. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify, and HCC also has a payment plan available. Follow the “Paying for College” link for more information.
