Important Information:
HCC reaffirms its policy of equal opportuntiy regardless of race,
color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation,
age, marital status, disability, or status as a disabled veteran
or Vietnam era veteran.
HCC offers open admissions and applications are processed in the
order they are received. Most programs do not have an application
deadline, but we suggest submitting your application well in advance
of the semester in which you wish to enroll. This gives you more
time to complete assessment testing, apply for financial aid, and
choose from the best selection of courses.
General Admissions
HCC has an open admissions policy; all who have at least one of
the following qualifications are welcome to enroll in non-selective
programs on a space available basis:
- Diploma from accredited high school
- General Education Development (GED) certificate
- HS Diploma or GED or ABT (Ability to Benefit) AND College-level
credits earned at other accredited colleges/universities
- International students who meet college and federal requirements
Selective Program Admissions
Admission to HCC does not guarantee admission to all programs. Based
upon their assessment results and program objectives, students may
be admitted conditionally and required to take developmental and/or
prerequisite courses. In additiion, special admissions requirements
have been established for selective programs which require that
students possess prior college-level skills and knowledge.
Financial Aid
HCC encourages applicants to consider applying for financial aid.
If possible, before the May 1 preferred deadline. For more information
or assistance, contact the Financial
Aid Office (413) 552-2150
