
The Ludlow Area Adult Learning Center (LAALC) helps adults learn English and offers other support programs. This free program serves adults in the Ludlow/Indian Orchard area who are immigrants or refugees. Students have ranged in age from 17 to 70+.
LAALC provides free instruction in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Morning and evening classes are offered in levels ranging from true beginner to high intermediate. In addition, academic advising and basic computer classes are available. The program provides support for:
Participants are awarded certificates for attendance, achievement, and completion.
LAALC also hosts HCC Business & Community Services non-credit GED classes.
LAALC is located at 54 Winsor Street, 2nd floor in Ludlow.
ESOL classes: M & W from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 5:30-9:00 p.m.
T & R from 5:30-9:00 p.m.
Public transportation is available via PVTA B9.
For morning classes, on-street parking is available on Chestnut Street.
For evening classes, a parking lot is available.
Call LAALC to make an appointment for an intake interview. The interview will evaluate speaking, listening, reading, and writing to determine which class level is appropriate.
