Health Care
The Kittredge Center offers short, skills-based health care training programs that provide preparation for required certifications and employment. These programs, which also are offered as distance learning, include EMT, nursing assistant, medical office worker, medical interpreting, and pharmacy technician. Tuition assistance opportunities are available to qualified applicants. Because these trainings are not-for-credit offerings, they do not qualify for PELL grants. Human Resources
The Kittredge Center offers training for individuals working in the field of Human Resource Management. These classes are offered in conjunction with the Employer’s Association of the Northeast (EANE). Courses typically include: Handling Employee Complaints; Critical Thinking & Decision Making; Juggling Multiple Priorities; Foundation of Effective Leadership; Communication Skills & Conflict Management; and Legal Liabilities of the Supervisor. K-12 Educators
HCC has partnered with Virtual Education Software, inc. (VESi) to provide continuing education courses for teachers. These provide interactive instruction on strategies for teaching students with special behavioral and learning needs. VESi/K-12 Paraprofessional Certification is offered. Management Courses
The American Management Association (AMA) offers its Certificate in Management Program and individual courses through the Kittredge Center. These cost-effective AMA courses are held either one day per week for two weeks, or one evening a week for five weeks. Courses include: ABC’s of Management; Fundamentals of Finance & Accounting; Effective Team Building; How to Deliver Winning Presentations; and Managing and Resolving Conflict. Project Management
The Kittredge Center is offering a newly-designed Project Management course in partnership with Springfield Technical Community College and Greenfield Community College. This 13-evening course provides comprehensive project management training and certification preparation. Taught by highly experienced and certified instructors, the course uses a unique balance of exercises, teamwork, and practice tests to create an environment highly conducive for learning. Real Estate
The Kittredge Center offers professional development classes for individuals interested in advancing in a career in real estate. Courses typically include:Real Estate Principles & Practices: Preparation for the MA Salesperson License Exam (24 hrs) and Preparation for the MA Real Estate Brokers License Exam (30 hrs).
