Alerts
Search Alerts
Search alerts will periodically e-mail you a list of new articles
that match your search when they are added to the database. This
can be helpful for keeping up-to-date in a particular area as well
as finding very current content to add to course readings.
Ebsco
- Create and refine a search in a database.
- Click on "Search History/Alerts" (just below search
boxes)
- Click on "Save Searches / Alerts"
- Log in (or create a free account)
- Name it, etc. Change to ALERT if you want to be alerted by
e-mail of new articles that are found by the search
Gale (Infotrac)
- Create and refine a search in a database.
- When looking at a list of results, click on "Create a Search
Alert" at the top of the result list.
Publication Alerts
Publication alerts will e-mail you (or provide an RSS feed) the
table of contents of a selected journal with links to each article.
This allows you to efficiently keep up with what's being published
in a particular journal and read only the articles of interest (often
available free from the library's subscription).

- Click on "Publications" (top) and search for your
journal (using the lower search box)
- Click on "Alert / Save / Share" (on right near top)
- Login (or create free account)
Gale (Infotrac)
- Click on "Publication Search" (near top) and find
your journal.
- Click on journal title
- Click on "Create a Journal Alert" (top right)
