HCC offers call boxes and assistance from a number of points on the college's suburban campus.

Students play a crucial role in promoting campus safety. HCC asks each student to assume responsibility for his or her own personal safety and the security his or her personal belongings by taking simple, common sense precautions.

For example, although the campus is well-lighted, any student or staff member, male or female, may feel more comfortable using the campus escort service when returning to a vehicle after dark. An escort may be requested either by dialing extension 0 or by asking the switchboard operator in the main lobby of Frost Building for assistance.
In addition:

• Bicycles should always be securely locked to bicycle racks provided around campus.
• Students with vehicles must park in assigned student parking areas and keep them locked at all times.
• Valuables should be locked in the trunk. Students should report any suspicious-looking activity to the Campus Police immediately.
• The campus grounds are frequented by walkers and joggers. Please obey the 20 mph posted speed limit.
