If English is not your first language, ESL (English as a Second Language) Support is available to help you learn. ESL courses are designed primarily to help students develop English skills to pursue a college degree.
Students in ESL upper levels may enroll in courses in the major when appropriate.
We understand that learning English can be difficult! That is why we offer additional support services like:
We don't stop there. You may also see supplemental instructors (SI's) in your classes. They work with your teacher and help you study outside of the classroom. They can help you learn concepts and class material, review for tests and help with homework.
ESL Support operates throughout the academic year, M-F from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Our office is located in the Donahue Building, Room 203.
Transportation is available to campus PVTA buses. Parking also is available in student lots.
There is no separate application. When filling out the application for admission to HCC, check the box (upper right portion) to indicate your interest in ESL.
