Favorite classes:

Principles of Accounting 1 and 2. I don't know if they were enjoyable but they were foundation courses and I had two really spectacular teachers, Lois Kolts and Thomas O'Connor--he was able to make accounting interesting for four hours on a Tuesday night. That says quite a bit.

Meaningful encounters at HCC:

Meeting Prof. John Donnellan. I've had several classes with him. He's also the person I picked to be my advisor. I go to him when I'm not sure of things. He's just generally a great guy. He's the one who approached me about this scholarship (PeoplesBank awarded Diaz with a $2,500 scholarship in the name of Marjorie Green. Click here to read the story.) 

What is your favorite thing about HCC:

The campus is very small and it's easy to get to know people. It's easy to get assistance. Whenever I've needed help or had questions I've always been able to find someone to help me get sorted out, whatever the situation is.

Where are you going from here:

I plan to graduate with my associate degree in May 2013 and then get my bachelor's degree in accounting through the Elms at HCC weekend program.
