HCC's kitchens are typically quiet on Sundays, but the Culinary Arts lab and the adjoining Picknelly Dining Room were crowded with cooks and assorted guests yesterday for HCC's First Farmers Market Festival.
HCC's Culinary Arts program hosted the festival, one of a series of food-related events that are part of HCC's "One Campus, One Theme -- Food" initiative.
HCC Music students provided live entertainment while Nutrition students shared healthy recipes and Sustainablity students demonstrated a solar-powered electric kettle.
"It was awesome to see students from many disciplines showcasing what they can do and learn here at Holyoke Community College," said Culinary Arts professor Warren Leigh, who organized the event.

The next event on the "One Campus, One Theme -- Food" calendar is a Columbian Exchange Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 19.
