Free Mathematics Transition Seminar

For High School Students (in Liberal Arts/related majors) at any Math Level as well as students who are not comfortable with problem-solving skills to those who would like to be challenged. This 5 week learning experience along side compassionate Mount Holyoke professors will build confidence and ability to succeed in mathematics-related courses in a fun and supportive environment. You will get introduced to the Mount Holyoke campus to get a taste of a selective liberal arts college and explore transfer possibilities. Welcome Wednesdays - offer prospective students the opportunity to meet with an admissions counselor who will provide an overview of the admissions, financial aid, and transfer process.

You will also learn about the variety of services available to our students including career and academic counseling, services for students with disabilities, as well as free tutoring and educational assistance. Each session is followed by a personalized tour of our state-of-the-art campus, including the brand new Kittredge Center for Business and Community.

Remembering Mountain Park, Jay Ducharme '78, Electronic Media faculty member, has just published a book, Mountain Park, about the amusement park in Holyoke that was a national destination in its heyday. In this trip down Memory Lane, Jay will offer a multi-media presentation of images from Mountain Park and talk about writing his book. This presentation is sponsored by the HCC Library. Legal Document Workshop with Attorney Bill St. James. In this fee-based workshop, attendees will create their "Simple Will" and "Power of Attorney" documents. The "Homestead Declaration" will also be provided to owners/mortgage holders of primary residences, and the health care proxy document will be explained.
