Welcome to ADVISING in the ACT center!

Advising in the ACT center (FR 273) is a walk-in service for Holyoke Community College students. The primary role for Advisors in the ACT center is to provide all aspects of academic advising to the new incoming student.  This process of advisement and course scheduling is called-Educational Planning.

  • Review College Placement Test scores
  • Review DegreeWorks worksheet
  • Discuss possible short and long term goals
  • Discuss timeline to graduation
  • Discuss New Student Orientation
  • Discuss access to email and online services
  • Discuss the role of their assigned academic advisor
  • Discuss available support services and resources

Academic advising for all students planning to enroll into credit courses including:

  • Current students
  • Returning students 
  • Transfer students     
  • Undecided students
  • Non- degree seeking students
