Mission Statement

The HCC Archives is the official repository for Holyoke Community College records having permanent historical, legal, administrative, and/or research value. Through its collections, the Archives will chronicle the history and academic endeavors of the college, promote awareness of the diverse history of our community, and inspire learners to explore the depths of primary source research. The Archives is committed to an “archives for all” approach towards collecting, accessing, and using materials.

Donating to the Archives

The Archives accepts donations by appointment only. We seek materials that pertain to the history and management of Holyoke Community College and/or materials created by faculty, staff, and students. As a state institution of higher education, we also have a duty to house records deemed for permanent retention as stated in the Massachusetts Statewide Records Retention Schedule. (Last updated March 2017)

The Special Collections may accept donations of items into the local history collection if they pertain to the history of Holyoke, or the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts.

If you think you may have items of interest for the Archives & Special Collections, please contact the archivist. We are unable to accept unsolicited or dropped off donations.
