Culinary Arts Program Summary
  • Line Cook Certification
  • Fee: Free of Charge* (If you are receiving SNAP, TAFDC or other benefits).
  • Instruction: In person at HCC: Race Street, Holyoke
  • Length: 8 weeks
  • Requirement: 18+ yrs old, High School Diploma/Hi-Set, Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated.
  • Employment Search: Upon successful completion, students will be given resources to help find employment in the Culinary Arts field.
Culinary Arts Program (Line Cook) Description:

The Culinary Arts Program teaches students to apply methods of food preparation that illustrate a high level of skill and professionalism needed for advancement in the dynamic culinary industry. Students must be at least 18 years old and provide documentation of full Covid 19 vaccination. The Culinary Arts program covers numerous topics such as: knife skills, preparation of  soups, stocks, desserts, poultry, fish and meat, culinary math and measurements, moist/dry heat cooking methods. All classes are in person at the Holyoke Community College Culinary Arts Institute, 164 Race Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts. Books, test fees and uniforms are included. Students must supply their own kitchen safe shoes. Successful students will earn the HCC Line Cook Certification and are eligible to take the ServSafe Manager exam
